Nutritional status of women and children in Flood Prone districts
Nutritional status of women and children has underlying risks which increases at a time of any disaster. Women and children have high risk of malnutrition in Bihar particularly in flood –prone districts. This fact was confirmed by a study conducted by “Society for Economic Development and Environmental Management, New Delhi”. The study was conducted on “The Nutritional status of women and children and Working of ICDS in Flood-prone districts of Bihar 2005”
It has one recommendation to achieve food and nutritional security through WSHGs at household and community levels in all flood-prone districts.
There is not much improvement at present.
